My name is Gloria, and I am addicted to my phone. I love to take pictures, I love to share them on social media, and I love to blog and tweet and instagram and all those annoying things. And you know what? I don’t care who doesn’t like it. Social media is this wonderful thing where I can show all the people in my life a slice of mine. I used to justify facebook because my sister lives far away, and it was my way of sharing my life and Harry’s life with her, but honestly I send her way more than I put up on the book-of-face. Now I am on instagram and I blog too, and they all do something for me. And I’m not stopping any time soon.
The wonderful thing about social media is that it can be a one or two way conversation. Or, you could just unfriend me and it’s a no-way conversation. I can put up a picture and someone could just observe it, or they could start a conversation some how. It’s in your hands! Often I feel guilty about posting too much, or only posting Harry pictures, or about taking and sharing a selfie, etc, but no more. I am dropping the guilt right now. I will post what I want, when I want, with no guilt about it.
The same goes for blogging. Blogging is my therapy, and it allows me to breathe a little easier after I post. I try to keep it mostly positive, but sometimes I need to get the negative off my chest. It helps me, and whether or not it helps anyone else I’m not going to stop. I sincerely hope that people happen here who need support, because that’s truly why I started this blog. When everything began with Harry I was searching and searching for people in a similar situation and found nothing. So I began to blog and throw everything out there.
I will not feel guilty, I will not apologize. And you know what? You shouldn’t either. Put what you want out there without apology. Do you like selfies? Post them. If they annoy me, I promise I will quietly unfollow you but check in now and then to spread some love. Do you love fine food? Please take a million pictures of it and share so I can live vicariously through you. Have a ton of children? Post multiple pictures of each one of them every day. As long as they’re not blurry, I promise I will love them. The same applies for each one of your pets, your motivational quotes, and your vacation pictures. Just please spare me on the ads, game requests, animal abuse stuff, or anything truly negative. Be happy. Do what makes you happy. Life is too short for unnecessary apologies. You can expect the stream of Harry photos to continue for quite some time!
